Mother's Day...the week after...

Well, Mother's Day was a week ago now...
It often continues for at least a week after that Sunday.
This year we were promptly followed by a few funerals and a couple proms.
We have been busy little bees!!
We have to say...

The proms are exploding with beautiful combinations this year.
We are happy to say, the floral industry has really come a long way in this department.
It has made the designing of them more fun!
The girls have really added such a twist to everything with all the "Bling"!

With all of the new combinations, colors, design
and added "Bling"
it makes the whole event POP!
This years popular colors in our area have been,
Teal, Orange, Aqua, & Peach.
Lots of roses, gems, rhinestones and silver wire.

Now that they are over,
and the season tapers off.....

We are onto graduations within the next couple weeks!
We don't seem to have as many corsages.
But, I'm sure the wrapped bouquets will be in abundance!

We will be here to help with the floral needs for all the graduates!
Give us a Call if you have any needs,
Congratulations to the Class of 2016!

Don't Forget your Administrative Professionals!

I have tried to research the history of Secretaries/Administrative Professionals Day.
I thought it would be fun to hear about the creation of this unique holiday.
I searched on the web for a good site to share.
Believe it or not, I found a great visual from Office

We all appreciate everything the administrative assistance's do for us.
So much goes unnoticed.  At the doctor's office, to the courthouse, to the lawyers office, Secretaries/Administrative Professionals are everywhere!
They have such an important roll in society.
It is important to remember them every year.

Don't let your Secretaries/Administrative Professionals go unnoticed this year!
Every Secretary/Administrative Professional LOVES! flowers.
Nothing brightens up the office better than flowers or a plant.
You don't have have a Secretary/Administrative Assistant to give a gift to?
I'm sure most of us have one we see often, when we visit the doctor?, Pick the kids up from school?
Bring them a bud vase, show them how much you appreciate them!

Go Ahead! Make their day!

Make your Wedding a Pinterest Wedding

Wedding season is in full swing here in Bradenton Florida!
The available venues in this tropical climate are amazing!
As we see the trends lean towards more outdoor weddings,
Florida has the prime locations.
Outdoor weddings all year, are defiantly a possibility here.

So many brides today, are changing up the traditions. The trends look amazing!
Some of the new trends we have seen, include, guest book sign in, outdoor venues, (like barn weddings), chalkboard signs, unique favor ideas, place settings,
and much bolder color schemes.
All changing the Classic bridal look and traditions.
But, it's not a bad thing...
It's a GREAT! thing!
It makes our floral job more exciting!

We recently did the flowers for an outdoor wedding.
The Venue was a spectacular location, with the perfect background.
It was at the South Florida Museum,
here in Bradenton Fl.

The bride was spectacular, the day was perfect and the setting was picture book perfect.
(LOL!  now a days- it's Pinterest perfect!)
It is such a beauty to see the colors come together.
This bride used the Marsala color, with pinks, whites, cream, gold & black.
It sounds like the combination may clash,
but, in the end it was magnificent!
Added to this classic setting,
it fit like a glove!

The Bride was Beautiful, and the event looked like something off of Pinterest.
The day came together well...

As we did for this beautiful bride, we can make any Pinterest wedding come true!
Give us a call, tell us your dream wedding, and we can make it happen for you too!

A Rose Is Just a Rose?

As we all know, Valentines Day is creeping closer and closer...
I would really like to educate everyone as much as possible before the "Day" is here.
For the last 29 years I've listened to my customers, friends, & family, ask me,
"What is the difference between the $9.99 dozen roses at the gas station,
and the $100.00 dozen roses at the florist on Valentines Day."

Well.... the best way I've been able to explain that is like this...
There are several varieties of roses.  Not just by color, but by types, within each color.
Think of them, like you do an apple. There are several varieties of apples.
Not just colors, but types. aka...varieties.
Just like an apple.. you get what you pay for.
A small, colorless, dry, bitter apple is going to be cheap.
An apple that is a little bigger, sweeter, little more juicy, will be a little more money.
Then you have your LARGE, shiny red, plump, sweet, juicy apple..
the creme dela creme!
Now, you don't mind paying for that apple!
It's WELL worth every penny!
It's the same with roses.
The difference is, we Florists, don't often carry those cheap, never open, die quick roses..
We care about what you bring home to your special someone!
We want your gift, you give, to last.
We want the recipient to have the "WOW" factor!
We want to make you SHINE!

So, I found this EXCELLENT link to a great Blog.
The blog explains SOME of the varieties that are out there for red roses
and the characteristic of that variety.
Hopefully it will be helpful for your choice of roses
and place you choose to purchase them from
this Valentines Day.
Here is the link-
Remember- We at Tropical Interiors Florist, always carry a high quality rose in our store.

Well..... It's time to pack away the Christmas decorations! :(
The New Year is here..!!
No rest for us florists...Time to prepare for Valentines Day!
Yeah,,,, we get a little stressed....

We LOVE what we do... Our veins are green...But, Valentines Day is a tough one...
We take this month and prepare as much as we can..

As the years pass, we see more & more internet deception in the floral industry.
There are more and more third parties, pretending to be a local florist on the internet.

Whenever you order your flowers,
Always make sure you ask whatever company you choose for their physical address
and always ask what state they are in.
If you order your item on line, visit their contact us page FIRST.
Make sure they display their physical address.
If you can not find it, they are more than likely, just a cyber shop.
Those companies are NOT florists..

They are NOT physically in a shop!
They know very little about flowers if at all.
They will take your order, and just charge you additional monies for that service.
Then, they will just call your order to a florist in that area.
You can do that yourself!

Save yourself the money, stress and aggravation.
Just call a local shop yourself!

Almost All Local florists will have websites.
Be smart this Valentines Day!

In the flower shop, we all get so excited
to see the newest addition to the Thomas Kinkade Christmas village.
This years piece is "Country Christmas Homecoming"

Teleflora and Thomas Kinkade
have been delighting our Christmas displays with this ever growing collectible village.
It has been a pleasure to offer these pieces of art from the "Painter of Light"
Fortunately, Teleflora has also given us the privilege to offer other
Thomas Kinkade products all year long.
Here at Tropical Interiors, we offer teapots, tea cups, vases,
and beautiful plant pots.
All with an amazing Thomas Kinkade painting on it!

I didn't know much about this wonderful artist.
He was really a wonderful man with good intentions for all his paintings.
Thank you to his website,
I can share his feelings

"Thom’s dearest wish had always been that his artwork
would be a messenger of hope and inspiration to others – a message to slow down, appreciate the little details in life,
and to look for beauty in the world around us.
As millions of collectors around the world sit back and enjoy his artwork in their homes, there is no doubt that Thomas Kinkade
had indeed achieved his goal of Sharing the Light™."

So, if you decide to delight your home with this years collection
or other Beautiful collectibles from this amazing artist.
You now know his intentions ,
and you can really enjoy what he meant for each piece made!

"In the often hurried and complex world we live in,
the images that Thomas Kinkade painted offer a place of refuge –
a place where the transient things of life give way to the things that matter most."

Well...Countdown is 9 Days Away!!
The season is upon us!
But, in this industry, we need to focus on one Holiday at a time.
I know there is a lot of controversy out there about marketing Christmas, before Thanksgiving.
Although we do need to market Christmas in November, we, as florists,
need to continue our focus on the Thanksgiving table.
After all, Thanksgiving is going to come, no matter what!
It's up to us to re-direct the public back to Thanksgiving The Centerpiece..
Years ago, EVERYONE had a floral centerpiece on their table!
Nowadays people are looking for a Christmas wreath to give as a Hostess Gift!
Lets get back to Tradition!
Nothing completes the Thanksgiving table like a glowing candled floral centerpiece!
What's beautiful about the floral selections out there,
is that, many come with a re-usable keepsake.
Like this years Teleflora Bounty of Beauty.
The re-circulation of the glazed pottery is classic tradition!
This bowl could be used to serve your Christmas dinner side, of mashed potatoes,
it can be re-made into a candled Christmas Centerpiece,
or use it as a Holiday candy bowl!
Meanwhile, it was the PERFECT! glowing centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table!
So, while you are searching for that perfect hostess gift for the hostess of your Thanksgiving Dinner,
remember to keep that glowing tradition!
A centerpiece is ALWAYS the perfect fit!
