Two MORE Days!!!  Halloween is almost here!! Have you carved your pumpkin yet?? There are sooo many different ways to make your pumpkin unique.
Remember the days of the basic "Jack-o-Lantern"? The triangle eyes with the toothless smile?
The "Jack-o-Lantern" has come a long ways! From Minions, to Pokemon....the choices are endless...
I wanted to learn about how these orange fruits became so popular... so I of course pulled up my Google and started searching!
This is what I learned, so, I send a thank you! to the History Channel:

Soon after, Jack died. As the legend goes, God would not allow such an unsavory figure into heaven. The Devil, upset by the trick Jack had played on him and keeping his word not to claim his soul, would not allow Jack into hell. He sent Jack off into the dark night with only a burning coal to light his way. Jack put the coal into a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the Earth with ever since. The Irish began to refer to this ghostly figure as “Jack of the Lantern,” and then, simply “Jack O’Lantern.”
In Ireland and Scotland, people began to make their own versions of Jack’s lanterns by carving scary faces into turnips or potatoes and placing them into windows or near doors to frighten away Stingy Jack and other wandering evil spirits. In England, large beets are used. Immigrants from these countries brought the jack o’lantern tradition with them when they came to the United States. They soon found that pumpkins, a fruit native to America, make perfect jack-o’-lanterns.

Well....It's almost Halloween!!!!  What a fun time of year! Ghosts...Goblins... spppoooky!!!! Most people think, white type of flowers could you send for Halloween? Well... there are MANY types of creepy arrangements that can be made for this scary time of year. There is always the ever faithful jack-o-lantern. But if you want to get creative, we can always put a black spider in your vase. Or top off your bouquet with some sticky spider webs! Maybe some black bats? Or a skull centerpiece? Whatever you can come up with, a florist can make it! Did I mention, I LOVE what I do? I love the challenge my customers give me. I enjoy being creative!

With Fall moving in on us, it's going to be Christmas before we know it.  Nothing says Christmas more than the amazing smell of Christmas pine in a flower shop! But, before I jump too far ahead of things, I wanted to discuss the trends that always seem to recycle.  It seems that the deep dark stoneware has made a comeback!  I'm happy to see it return.  Last fall we saw the stoneware make it's first peek back into popularity.... I guess I just never lost my love for it...So, as we head into the season of pumpkin latte, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin bread, pumpkin EVERYTHING! We seem to see this lovely pottery return. The fresh flowers just compliment the stoneware.  I love the rich warm fall colors. Beautiful orange and golden leaves....Ahhh!

Petal It Forward was conceived by the Society of American Florists to share the power of flowers, as documented in research by Rutgers University that demonstrated flowers create delight, increase life satisfaction and make people happy. SAF recently surveyed 2,500 U.S. residents and found 88 percent of Americans report that giving flowers makes them feel happy, while 80 percent reported that receiving flowers makes them feel happy.
We are taking "pay it forward" and making it our own with our‪#‎petalitforward‬ campaign! On Oct. 7th, we will randomly present 2 flower bouquets to people throughout Bradenton. Recipients will be asked to #petalitforward by giving one of their bouquets to someone in their life or even a stranger!
Well... We were sooo! Happy to watch the smiles on the faces of the recipients from   #petalitforward!  We LOVE what we do!  Flowers always bring a smile to just about anyone's face.
